Tutor Job Description

Tutoring roles at Sprout and S.T.E.M. provide opportunities for paid service work and research. By incorporating experiential learning and professional development, you will improve your readiness for postgraduate education.
Sprout and S.T.E.M. is currently hiring tutors for September 2023.
Pay: $20.00/hour starting rate.
Schedule: Sessions are hosted twice per week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at a local school. Tutors are expected to attend at least two sessions per month over a 10-week span.
Requirements: A positive attitude and an eagerness to support disadvantaged schools. Tutors typically study some form of science or math at the undergraduate level. Prior tutoring experience is beneficial.
Research: This position offers the opportunity to conduct an independent research project; see Roadmap for Tutors below.
Personal Growth and Networking: In this position, you will develop important competencies such as Service, Cultural Competence, and Verbal Communication. You will also enter the network of young professionals, graduate students, and undergraduate students from Brown University, Bryant University, Providence College, the University of Rhode Island, and Rhode Island College.
